WatchPAT One
The sleep/wake detection in WatchPAT one is based on data collected by the built-in actigraph. The automated actigraph algorithm in the proprietary software distinguishes between sleep and waking states in normal participants and those with Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). This algorithm elevates WatchPAT’s home sleep apnea test (HSAT) over all other actigraph devices, which often fail when utilized with OSA individuals. The sleep/wake algorithm in WatchPAT has been evaluated and published in peer-reviewed journals. The results reveal that actigraphy and PSG have an extremely high agreement in assessing sleep efficiency, total sleep time, and sleep latency (86 percent in normal subjects, 86 percent -mild OSA, 84 percent -moderate OSA, 80 percent severe OSA).
